A close encounter
This morning I met up with four friendly Flickerers at RSPB Arne, where we hoped to see lots of rutting activity from the Sika deer. Whilst there was no rutting to be seen, we were lucky enough to experience several fairly close encounters with some Sika stags. Apparently all the rutting had taken place earlier in the morning, before we arrived, as the deer prefer the weather to be cooler for their amorous activities!
Many thanks to Sally Bowe www.flickr.com/photos/sallybowe/ for the invitation and for organising the meet-up, it was great to meet everybody and put some faces to names!
