Those who died on the plane have their benches arranged so those reading the name are facing out toward the sky, and those who died in the Pentagon have their benches arranged so those reading the name are facing the Pentagon.

Pentagon Memorial Entrance

Do note the inscription on the ground - "September 11, 2001, 9:37 am". That is when the hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 slammed into the Pentagon.
