![]() I love Bryant Park
It's an oasis in the middle of a concrete canyon that is Midtown Manhattan. It is not my imagination but fact that the din of 6th Avenue actually lessens slightly as you cross from the sidewalk through the trees and into the park proper. I guess the trees soften the effect of the traffic roar. It has an upmarket air, it is flanked on one side by the New York Public Library, and the gold gilded Bryant Park Hotel. There are concessions selling coffee, cake, deli style sandwiches and soup and there are plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by. The birds too have become accustomed to city life and are not bothered at all by human presence. Unlike London pigeons, they seem well off and well fed, feeding off scraps left behind by the suits reading the NYT. They watch from a vantage point and then swoop across the neatly clipped lawn to grab another tidbit. View On Black BTW In a break from tradition I've uploaded the rest of my NYC stuff, another five shots or so follow this one. CommentsK_D_B A bit more active again (I Wish)
