Fisherman handing out snacks to a whale shark

In one place in the Philippines, fisherman have been getting quite a lot of criticism for hand feeding uyap (small shrimp) to whale sharks. This has turned into a tourist attraction very quick. Most biologists believe feeding the whale sharks will be bad in the long term, the fishermen on the other hand love it as an alternative income and can stop fishing for a while in this overfished area. To feed or not to feed, that is the question...

Pharaoh cuttlefish

I came across these pharaoh cuttlefish during a trip through Burma and Thailand. The scenery was surreal, the middle male kept fending of the one on the right while the female (left) was laying eggs in the corals. All of this happening in a colorful surrounding and tons of glassfish as a backdrop.
