"FLAMINGO-ED" door hanger

This was a fundraiser we tried where placed 50 plastic, pink flamingos in church members' yards and they paid to have them removed.

So let me get this straight. You put up 50 plastic flamingoes in church members yards and then ask them for a donation to remove the flamingoes? And you also sell "flamingo insurance" to guarantee that you won't flamingo a church member's yard? Doesn't that seem a little like... well... exhtortion?

It sounds like you will remove them for free if someone wants, but still. That seems a little pushy for a donation thing.

The design is pretty cool, though. I agree that the insurance cards should look the same. And I'd go with this look--it has a little more kitsch value to it.

The concept itself is out-of-the-box and something I have never heard of before. BUT...I would agree with Kevin, this seems a little too forceful unless it was setup properly.

I would be curious to hear about people's responses.

of course we promoted this for weeks before actually attempting it.

We sold 20-or-so "insurance" cards and then placed the flamingos in the first family's yard and I forgot to mention that THEY chose the next yard they sent the flamingos to.
