These are only a few of my books for this semester..I don't have huge textbooks, but TONS of reading..hundreds of pages a week. Three or four of them haven't come in the mail yet. This is my last semester, and everyone's really, really killing me, class-wise. It's only the second day! But my Tuesday & Thursday classes are back-to-back-to-back-to-back. It is trying.
I have to end my 365! It really pains me to do so, because I have enjoyed the resurrection and I feel like I've really grown with this set, as opposed to the other that I had last year, but I literally do NOT have time to take a photo of myself every day. Between classes, which I LOOOVE (I seriously love what I do in school--Sociology and Global Studies. I think it's amazing and I put so much of myself in it), both my jobs (I typically write 2-3 articles a week for the paper, and work 20-35 hours a week at my other job), and random photo sessions...no time!!!
SOOOO until we meet again Flickr (probably once a week or so)!

THIS is from an event my husband has spent ALL SUMMER organizing, and it finally happened. It was a 3-day thing, it ended tonight. This is from Saturday, the music festival part of the event, and this is the first band that played, Orphan Tugboat. AND also the reason I haven't done anything on Flickr those two days, I was consumed by this event. I did get tons of photos, though--bands are sooooo fun to shoot!

FORTY-FIVE/365: going green
How I Accidentally Became Environmentally Friendly:
When I met Sean, he didn't really buy red meat. There wasn't a reason, it was just something he didn't do. Sooo I didn't buy it, and that's how we accidentally stopped eating red meat. After we went to India (actually for Sean, while we were there) we decided to stop eating chicken, and then this April we gave up fish (except tuna). We figured since we had already stopped with red, we might as well stop with white.
I've been wearing Burt's Bee's make-up for as long as I can remember (I just wear concealer and mascara, sometimes lip gloss), but I never knew it was natural until recently.
Last October our car broke down. Instead of paying to fix it, we bought bikes. Now we take public transport or ride our bikes where we need to go (unless someone comes to pick us up). We're moving to a super bike-friendly city at the end of the year because we enjoy not having a car.
ALSO when I met Sean, he didn't have cable. When we moved, we decided the TV was too heavy and didn't bring it, so now we watch movies on the computer.
I bought organic shampoo and conditioner the other day because I figured if I'm already on that trek, I might as well stick with it. I used it for the first time today (did you realize shampoo is supposed to be CLEAR?! I didn't either). We also started drinking organic milk.
I'm not saying any of this from a moralistic point of view--it doesn't bother me in the least what anyone else does or does not do, health wise or otherwise. It's just the story of how this photo, I guess. :)
HOWEVER, I pledge right now for the rest of my life, I will NEVER be vegan. There is NOTHING wrong with it, (in fact, I think certain parts of the media use words like "hippie" and "tree-hugger" and all of that just to demonize something that is GOOD FOR YOU so people will keep buying things that are BAD FOR THEM, but that's another story) I just love cheese way too much.
The green is intentionally spotty, because I'm not totally green yet.;)
HEY let's also pretend I was cool enough to think to name this IS THERE LIFE ON MAAAAAAAAAAAAARS in honor of Bowie, ok? Because it only NOW occured to me, like 2 hours later.
