    Explored! #3

There might not be any benefit to seeing this bigger, but why take chances? (I don't know what that means ;-))

So... last night Felix got out of the house. Like I've said before, he's an outdoorsman. He has been desperate to get outside since we brought him home. We've been very careful to watch him and make sure that he was nowhere near the door so that he didn't get out... until last night.

I was cleaning his litter box last night and last time I saw him, he was in his bed in the laundry room, but as soon as I opened the door to take the litter out... well, let's just say that I've NEVER seen him run like that before... and on only three good legs.

I chased him across the neighborhood until I lost him in the dark.

It mad me pretty sick to know that we spent all that money and now he might be undoing to good that the vet did. I stayed out for a bit looking for him but eventually headed off to bed.

This morning I got up and began the search for him. After a while I heard some movement from a water drainage catch basin and sure enough... there he was. We played a game of hide and go seek between catch basins where I had to pull the lid and actually get down in there, but finally I caught him and hauled him back off to the laundry room. Needless to say I was pretty worn out.

Tonight we watched L.A. Confidential. I don't think I've seen it since the first time it came out. I forgot just how good that movie was.

very cool shot, totally well done.

I'm glad you got Felix back inside where he can heal more safely (even tho' I know he hates being cooped up, in the long run I bet he'd thank you if he only understood) *hugs*

Thank you! I'll try not to disapoint.

      Seriously... he's very spry.

I did. I tried to light the shot so that the polaroid would leave the left (your left, my right) side of my face in shadow so that it would be a good contrast to the lit side of my face. So I took one with the polaroid in front of my face and then one without and of course masked out the polaroid.

And maybe you'll be good luck again ;-).

*sigh...* I keep thinking about starting a 365days project and while your work is inspiring and some of the best I've ever seen (You're in my top 3 favorite photographers period) I can't help but be like "Man, I remember back in the day when we were both doing this project, and he's just so much more goddamn better than he was back then. And he was pretty good then. I haven't improved enough to start hanging with him again."

It's coming, my second take of the project that is, but you set a hell of a bar.

LOL, Thanks man. I really think that's about the best compliment that I've ever gotten ever. But seriously, when you're in the zone, you were a true artist. Your work seemed to inspire and anger people. It seemed to always stir up some emotions in whomever came across them... good or bad.

So come on in... the water's waiting for you... all nice and warm ;-).

Amazing shot - amazing processing. So seamless, in fact, that I thought perhaps you had sliced the picture part out of the polaroid and were just holding the frame when you shot it. Even on closer inspection I couldn't decide. Glad I read the comments. Beautiful, inspiring work.
