This is a shot I took a couple of years ago while camping in Hallo Bay Alaska, the area where Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend were killed by Grizzly Bear.
I just found an entire folder of photos from that trip I'd forgotten about! So I scanned through them and was pleased to find this one! I recall this moment, sitting on an old log in the middle of a sedge grass field (the Grizzlies meal during the spring) and watching this sow nurture her two cubs. I remember this moment when they all went on the lookout...there was a boar (male) grizzly entering the area and they sensed his presence, and the danger he presented to them.
