Thanks Mandi. Truth is, this is the colours they would have been if there'd been more sunlight. Proof that post-processing is sometimes VERY necessary.

Nice one Stephen. Cameras alter the colour for a start, then there's the screen you look at it on . . . no such thing as a true representation.
What's good is seeing the potential of the image.

Thanks Jay.

Hello and thank you bugalugsrox . These were just the top of the trees, I kept them in the shot for contrast against the cloudy sky.

Hello Off beat Mum. I have noticed that effect happens when I change the colour on grey-clouds.

Thanks Stephen. Thankfully it didn't rain, but it felt like it was going to!

So true Harvey. Although I do like to shoot what I see, sometimes the enhancements help bring out the story within an image.

Great work Stephen. Lovely effect.

Regarding post-processing, I believe its the outcome -- the final image -- that matters. In Olden Dayes, people would always post-process during development -- doge and burn, adjust exposure, and generally diak around endlessly to get the best from the image. (My dad used to take over the bathroom for hours as a darkroom!) So making adjustments in Photoshop or whatever is quite OK, IMHO.

Thanks for your comments on the subject of post-processing Spotrick , much appreciated.
Personally, I get a tad embarrassed when I have to resort to post-multimedia work. It suggests that I didn't get the photograph right in the first-instance.
But on this occasion, I have no embarrassment: I knew it was going to take some work afterwards to bring out the colours.
On that issue, I have some shots of the "Wind Farm at Second Valley" about to appear in my portfolio. Yes, many of these were worked over to enhance the skyline...
