My Basketball Strobist Set Up

Strobe on the left and right of the hoop, each on a tripod.

Strobes include SB600, SB800, or SB900. Each one is set to 1/4 power.

    Nope. We did testing during practices before using this set up in games and they said it's fine. No complaints from visiting teams, either.

    Good gym for strobing. Easy to get the strobes in front of the players and above for natural looking light.

    These are great shots & setup shots. I would love to do this with the ABs. Being able to get the lights up there is nice. The only gym that I get to shoot in doesn't have any upper level. It is just a box.

    hi. i'm a strobist fan :), too.. can i ask tou something? what are you using, to trigger the flashes? you use nikon CLS system or you preffer other trigger (i use cactus trigger and i'm not so happy with the performance of it) ? (i dont't speak and write english very well, so if i did some mistake, please scuse me :) )

    This shot was taken using PocketWizards that were not mine. I now use CyberSyncs and they work equally well as the Pocketwizards for about 1/3 the price.
