Nut butter comparison

There are a lot of nuts in our diet these days since they provide us with unsaturated fats and proteins that we need. I went a little wild buying nut butters recently so I could compare them. Lined up are the following: cashew butter, soy nut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, three kinds of peanut butter (all of them with no hydrogenation), and almond butter with maple). A taste test and nutrition comparison allowed me to determine that I do not care for soynut butter at all, do love cashew butter (but it's a little on the fatty side), and love almond butter best of all. Good old peanut butter still has its place, but beware. Not all peanut butter is created alike. The three types we have here are Smart Balance chunky and creamy and Jif Naturals. Neither are particularly great. I find that there are all-natural, pure-peanut butters that are much better, but Lex doesn't like the natural butters because the oil separates from the nuts.
