Joe, I edit the funny page at New Scientist, called Feedback. Every yer I take part in the Ig Nobel road show (a show about the Ig Noble prizes for "scientific achievements that make you laugh and then think". Each year we show a collection of suprising signs. I'd like to show this one in the next show. It would fit in perfectly with the kind we like. Can I? If so, can you get me a hi-res copy? We'd credit you, of course.
Regards, John (feedback@newscientist.com)

Maybe it is meant as a subtle criticism of car drivers. I.e. "why are you not reading these road signs? Don't you know how important our information is?"

If it was in Wales it would pointlessly have the same thing written underneath in Welsh.
