Killing Fields

Killing Fields

Remains of some of the victims at Camp Choeung EK where the Khmer Rouge executed thousands of Cambodians. Many of the sculls had visible incisions and holes caused by the tools used for the executions. To minimize the use of ammunition the executioners used farming tools such as shovels instead of riffles. Choeung EK, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Killing Fields

Killing Fields

At Camp Choeung EK, one of Cambodia's many "killing fields", teeth and other bones of the thousands executed by the Khmer Rouge keep emerging. They are collected every few weeks and stored at the site. At one of the marked areas I noticed this tooth on the ground. Choeung EK, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
