One Thousand Years...
...is how long this rune stone has stood at the side of the Blåkulla Road at Ribby, the oldest part of Västerhaninge. The inscription reads: Sven had this stone raised after his father Rodisl. Sven was a very common name around that time, whereas Rodisl probaly had come over from the island of Gotland.

Can you tell if someone is from Gotland from their Swedish dialect? Do you ever hear or read any words from the old Gutnish language? 1000 years is a long time.

Easy! They (people from Gotland), only have to say one word, and everyone will recognise that accent. It's unique. If they feel like it and start talking the old dialect no one from the mainland will understand a word.
