      How long did that take to render? Is it just an image wrapped around a globe or have you got some mental texturing going on with the mountains and things. Looks ace.

      Cheers, it took about 8 minutes on a dual quad-core machine. I've got 3 spheres nested inside one another: earth, clouds and atmosphere. The earth has a combination of diffuse (colour), bump and specular (reflection) maps as well as a night time version limited to the dark side by a light/shadow falloff map. All the texture maps are 16k x 8k pixels.
