It is interesting watching how the wind speed varys the shape of a chimney plume. Here at low wind we have the dirty heart shaped plume. Dirty because of the smaller particulate matter being carried off further by the light wind whilst the water vapour quickly consdenses in the low air temperature.

After seeing the pictures of the seals on the beach the previous weekend the little ones wanted a visit. How could I refuse!! A long walk was rewarded with squeals of delight.

However the walk back was made longer and more tedious due to the high north-westerly winds peppering their faces with course sand.

With all the chatter at a recent PhotoSoc meeting about the seals at Winterton, this "I don't do bugs, birds or other animal pictures" person dragged himself over to the east Norfolk caost. After a 3 mile march north from Winterton found a small colony and spent an hour observing them...

This is as cute as this photostream will get and not likely to be repeated ;-)
