a big no thank you - to the frills & corsets
and an even bigger no thank you to the status of those women.
At that time - still little better than 'property'.
1909 Women garment workers strike in New York for better wages and working conditions in the Uprising of the 20,000. Over 300 shops eventually sign union contracts.
1960 Women now earn only 60 cents for every dollar earned by men, a decline since 1955. Women of color earn only 42 cents.

The more people we can make victims of the better off we are eh? These ladies had it well, it's obvious by their status and their fineries. No victims there... but check behind the next door, you'll probably find someone else willing to become a victim of the majority view.

I love that each dress has its own distinctive colour.
