Tribute to Oscar Reutersvard - Green Triangle
Oscar Reutersvard was a Swedish artist and was the first to deliberately make impossible figures. In 1934 he created the first drawing of an impossible triangle out of a series of cubes. Here Pete has made three further developments in colour each using approximately 2200 Machin definitive postage stamps. The design needs to be looked at for at least thirty seconds in order to realise that the triangle is an imperfect illusion.
91cm x 91cm (36" x 36") on canvas. Created from approximately 2200 used postage stamps.
