cemetery bees 6

A swarm of bees have taken up residence on two old tombstones at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. I just happened upon them today. I have a friend who is a bee keeper and I called him and he said that he'd come and get them removed safely. Bees are relatively harmless creatures and are beneficial to the environment and their hives need to be out away from people, so this was an odd site indeed! I didn't want someone to spray chemicals or water on them! Bees are great insects and only sting when absolutely necessary, unlike wasps, who are evil predators.
