Mare Island

Went to explore the former Naval Shipyard on Mare Island to escape the Sacramento summer heat one day with Jesse. We found our way into what we think was an explosives development and testing building along with a laboratory.

After exploring that complex we went walking around one of the main administration buildings and were asked to leave by security. We complied and were followed by security not only to our car, but all the way off of the peninsula. We hope to return some day soon because there is a lot left to explore.

We headed to the coast and drove up the touristy road on the North side of the Golden Gate to some old barracks.
