not too bad for being deathly sick with a cold. I don't even know why I was outside. I guess I'm just a tad insane. But anyway here is my 25¢ brown sweater again, same shoot just a different shot. I'm glad i'm doing a mixture of simple portraits and complex ones, Im not so overwhelmed now by feeling obligated to make these incredibly complex photos with complex concepts. Sometimes its best to just go back to the basics.

Also on an even brighter note, I think I just got hired today! It's kind of a weird story that left me questioning whether I had a job or not but perhapsI will tell the entire story sometime but right now i'm just kind of confused, happy yes, but very confused.

I want to be like you.

I want to be like you.

so i'm currently sick, my dad thinks its pneumonia, I think it's just a cold but regardless I felt it necessary to take some new photos as I have not in the past several weeks or so because i've been sick. BUT, It was time, sick or not! So I went outside in the just above freezing cold in a brand new sweater I found at a local thrift store for 25 cents I think. Yes 25 cents! I was shocked when the total of my purchases came to only $4.10, I'll be taking a photo of my haul from that thrift trip sometime soon just because I am thrilled with how much money I saved! Anyway, so I went outside in my new sweater and moccasins with the idea of taking photos for lookbook because i'd probably end up with something for flickr as well, and I was not feeling very creative, I just needed to take photos of SOMETHING, so this was one of the very first shots I took and I think I like it! The birds are not real and the brushes I used for them can be found here lpdragonfly.deviantart.com/gallery/3673612#/d1xfkce

secure in the unknown

secure in the unknown

from my "the art of hanging" shoot

went back through my photos from this shoot because I wanted to edit something but am currently sick with a death of a cold so I really shouldn't be outside the the cold wet snow, not to mention I look like death too, but hey when has my self portraits been about being pretty?

but anyway, opened all of the photos I liked into photoshop and began to play around with them, I was particularly fond of this one but wasn't sure what to do with it so I just left it alone. Today I went back to photoshop and decided, heck with it i'll just try something I can always undo or start fresh if I don't like the results. Well after some experimenting I ended up with this and I actually quite like it!

This is partially inspired by Brooke Shaden's style of portraits.

I also used a combination of the actions Butterscotch Village, Define, and *I think* Velvet Truffle from an amazing little site I stumbled upon one day www.thecoffeeshopblog.com

ps. I think it looks best on black so press L :)

I can't decide which photos I like best from my last shoot -_-

decisiveness is not my strong suit.
