Much Ado About Nothing
Back in 2001 my little quilting bee decided to make a wall hanging based on the line "Much Ado About Nothing" as a challenge.
Since I can't think of too many things that is more much ado about nothing than sports. (Sorry sports fans but that is how I feel) I asked my husband what sport he would like to have me make. Of course, he said basketball.
I even watched a game with him to see how to make the court.
The crowd was individually cut from various fabrics and attached to a plain piece with "Heat n' bond". They are sewn on in rows across the bottom so the tops are loose.
The players were from the Ann the Gran web site- free designs- and embroidered on my Janome 9000 and hand appliqued onto the background.
Machine quilted.
This is one time I thought basket ball was fun.

Barbie and Friends
I used to make a lot of clothes for my Barbie dolls. These are the ones I have left. I crocheted a whole year's worth of fancy ball gowns and made three other plastic canvas gowns but gave them all away.
The one way on the left is plastic canvas and the rest are sewn, crocheted, and knitted.

Microscopic Cells
This is the Fast Friday Fabric Challenge #39.
The Theme was Microbiology.
Rules: Detailed look at life under the microscope...
My inspiration for this was bone tumor cells.
The bone is real with painted cells. On the background some cells were painted and some were sequins and beads.
The dark areas on the background were painted
The blood vessel was couched yarn with painted off shoots.
I asked my sister for the largest turkey bone. Her husband saw it and asked if she was saving it for a purpose. When she told him it was for me he said "I'm not even going to ask".
