I've had a few people ask if this was really a digital shot. They don't always realize that you can still manually override shutter speed and aperture on a decent digital camera.

(disclaimer: around here they don't have sidewalks on bridges over highways, maybe that is different in other parts of the world)

Kiel: I guess that's really part of the trick... to find somewhere that a pedestrian (or photographer, in this case) can set up a tripod or their own person without getting flattened by a vehicle. I was fortunate that there were sidewalks on the bridges for these particular pictures.

I suppose that as long as you kept as close as possible to the shoulder of the roadway, you might be safe. Although I had a friend who used to balance himself on the guardrails of bridges to get the right shot.

Looking back on this image nearly four years hence, I think I should have adjusted the curves a bit to deepen the shadows and intensify the colours even more. But, i do appreciate the comments. Thanks.
