Inspiration: National Gazette

I love how newer Recent Topics are dark links and slowly gradient to lighter shades as they get older.
Fantastic logo anchors the page in the center.
Great use of typography for the login/register links.
Simple, well spaced navigation links.
The separator lines with leaf graphics are classy and still subtle.
Inspiration: National Gazette by Patrick Haney.
A newspaper website, in my inspiration set? Noooo...

Yes. Another example of what you can do with almost no imagery and great typography, grid and layout. Fantastically simple.

Amazing yes, if you want to see what's bad about it check out the CSS, must be about 20 pages long... you're right, great type. unbeatable.

Point taken, amokmberan... Since Jason and Cameron finished the design, I've been adding and editing the CSS as the site has grown. I recently re-factored the CSS into a few different style sheets for my own sanity. There are still redundant classes (for hyperlinks, especially) that could be cleaned up.
