Congrats on the prize (and on upsetting the
powers-that-be!)
And ... talking of corporate paranoia ...
did you put the hyperlink on the word
'private' or did Flickr?

Well guys, the photo was taken years ago
while the place was still operating. I took
this with my old manual Minolta. I don't
know what you mean about the hyperlink is
gone. What does that mean?

Well worth the "escort" ...
sometimes the beauty/quality of photos is
directly proportional to the risk that you
take to capture them! Instant fave!

This photo has been used for the "Use Less Oil" cause on Facebook. I love the colors
and simplicity of this shot though. It just
makes you think about how amazing and complex
the industrialized world has become.

You never see that particular orangy color in
the sky without being near the factories that
create it. One time I was taking some
pictures of some oil tanks along the
mississippi river, and 3 police cars pulled
up. A police officer told me to freeze, put
the camera down. He asked me why I was
taking pictures- I didn't know what to say so
I said "for artistic purposes."
They told me to delete my pictures- I
complied while an officer stood watching over
my shoulder as I deleted the pictures. If
that happened nowadays I would not be so damn
complacent . Thanks for the photo.
