OIL REFINERY

I took this at sunset, no tweaking here, and I took it on private property. The officials escorted me to the nearest cross street and told me there would be trouble if I came back. I took lots of shots, but this is the only one I liked. Fortunately for me, it won a $100.00 prize at a contest for historical places. The place has been shut down for years now.

You never see that particular orangy color in the sky without being near the factories that create it. One time I was taking some pictures of some oil tanks along the mississippi river, and 3 police cars pulled up. A police officer told me to freeze, put the camera down. He asked me why I was taking pictures- I didn't know what to say so I said "for artistic purposes." They told me to delete my pictures- I complied while an officer stood watching over my shoulder as I deleted the pictures. If that happened nowadays I would not be so damn complacent . Thanks for the photo.
