Kananaskis Alberta There are signs in this picture that it may have been cold when it was taken; the snow on the ground, the wind shaped drifts, and the lack of palm trees. It was a chilly one for sure but I hardly noticed my fingers going numb because the scenery was so damn nice.

Kananaskis Alberta My favorite time to take pictures is during the "magic hours" around dusk and dawn. This is also when most animals are out so I always make lots of noise because I'm scared s#1tless of bears. I had a spectacular and surprising moment when this wolf ran within feet of me almost saying: STAND ASIDE... SERIOUS WOLF BUSINESS!

Banff National Park Canada These falls are located a ways up a snowy mountain. Most people shoot them from the ground but the people who are adventuress enough to climb are rewarded for their effort. With a beautiful view? No, with an awesome 500 MPH slide ride down.

Winter always looks extra amazing in the higher elevation areas of the Rockies like Lake Louise and Rogers Pass. This picture also is the debut of my 2012 watermark!
