The Sky All Hung with Jewels

Walking in the snow under Christmas lights on Nelson Street. Used flash in this one to capture the snowflakes.

Used Photoshop to add sepia effect, adjust contrast and vignette.

      erin - thanks a lot!

isoldt_bunny - really? It really is quite beautiful. You'll have to come out to Vancouver during the winter sometime.

law_keven - thanks for noticing me on Explore and thanks for all the invites!

Εκείθεν - thank you, very flattering

      t. burd - thanks very much. There's a really nice little stretch on Nelson Street, where Christmas lights form an archway over the sidewalk. It really looked like a scene from a movie last night.

cbguille - thank you for noticing!

I prefer the cooler weather. we have snow here (in the mountains). I've 'been to the snow' only one time, a long time ago...it didn't snow while I was there, though. seeing snow in the city would be amazing, what with all the lights and everything! now that's something we don't have! : )

This is really amazing. All the little blurry snowflakes are like fleeting memories ... you can look at them all you want but still not really make out what they are. Great effects. Such a cold setting, yet warmth is being emitted from the couple walking.

Very well done. Seen in explore.

jontofski and joachim - glad you found me on Ffffound.com. I wasn't even aware of the website until you mentioned it. Great to be on there!

      Jen_Mo and takkller3 - thanks!

j_image - thanks a lot for your comment, it was really great to hear your perspective. I was glad that the snowflakes turned out as well as they did. Nice to know I made it in explore too!

Thanks for everyone's comments - I'm not usually a fan of flash, but under the right circumstances you can definitely use it to your advantage.
