Conversation with dead giants

View On Black

Rattlesnake lake. one of the first scenic spots we visited when we arrived in Washington. it might be the reason why we went back to the lake so many times this year. son with feet in the water. he was not posing. i didn't ask him anything. he was just looking at the view. besides: the best shots i get from my kids is when they're not looking!

hans, fulvio, redpanda, boyzdontcry, drowninsanity : many thanks i'm thrilled you like it.

This light processing is also amazing!! The scene is the most beautiful one I saw today on Flickr, it express so much I cant not tell in english words but capture my breath and I did click rightaway on it when I saw in my contacts page.
    Congrats!!

  12. Christoph Christoph (42 months ago | reply)

That is very beautiful. The ripples are quite exquisite.

This is quite outstanding. As soon as I saw this I knew I had to add you. I mean, everything about it is just so dang cool, the view, the ripples... but really I think the kid enjoying the view is the best part of it. Kid's move at a million miles an hour, and it's great to catch them in a moment of stillness and awe (whether or not that's what he was actually feeling isn't all that relevant).

Really like your stuff, and look forward to seeing more!

I agree I love shots when kids aren't looking - or just not posing in general - I tend to like when they aren't smiling better too.
I love the element on your photo of humanity entering into this almost undisturbed natural place of beauty - you captured sooooooo beautifully

Terrific comp, Nicolas. Rattlesnake is a great place for a quick outing. The ledge above the lake and the trail that traverses along that ridge are super for a short, but scenic hike.

Love the way the ripples complement the organic forms of the stumps and mountains. And the iconic Mt. Si in the background. Excellent work, and that trademark sparth mood.

  33. Extra Medium (42 months ago | reply)

Hey, I recognize those stumps! Got some great shots of that lake, just turned to the left. Love the stumps. And great dramatic clouds too
