This photo was taking on the morning of September 11, 2001
Our team had spent the morning searching for coastal wolves on an island in the Inside Passage of British Columbia. It had been a breathtakingly beautiful experience, complete with wolf sitings, and the sounds of the wolve's howing echoing in the fog passages between the islands.
Within an hour of taking this photo, we were to learn about what had taken place that morning in New York City.
Although in shock, we voted to continue our journey, to continue the dispatches we were sending back to the One World Journeys home team.
To this day, I still get chills when I listen to and read the Field Dispatch 4 that we prepared from the trawler, the Explorer, that evening.
