Providence

Providence by Sparechange63.
Parade of Sails. Replica of the Continental Navy ship of the American Revolution.

Beginning the war as the sloop Katy, the ship was renamed in Dec 1775 when it entered in the service of the newly formed Continental Navy. During this service the vessel made several raids around Nova Scotia and the Caribbean taking several vessels as prizes. In July 1779 the ship and some 30 others were trapped in the Penobscot River by the British and burned to prevent her capture.

This ship appeared briefly in the movie "Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and gets grabbed by the Kraken.
