Thanks - this was an experiment (what to do with extra pumpkin pie filling and pastry?) and it worked out rather well. I was able to slip the pie out of the ramekin and slice it into little pieces to share with work people. Gotta love "fun size" food. =)
I've done this too when there is just too much filling... I've also gone "crustless" and used muffin papers to make baked pumpkin custards in individual portions.
Crustless - interesting! Though I must admit, I do love a good crust... I'm getting pretty good at making my own all-butter pastry. I need some lessons in fluting the crust, though. =)
Thats so true Monica - us Brits are'nt exactly known for our food or how it looks. I was being flippent about your pie really - i have a good Flickr friend in the USA and she was telling me about her thanksgiving day so i went off to view what other peep's where doing and was supprised that pumpkin was everwhere - starter, main+dessert. Ive never had pumpkin -the closest is halloween +then its scooped out and thrown away So ive gathered a few recipes together and i'm off to buy a pumpkin at the weekend and try it out . Hope you had a wonderful day ;-)
