Cindy Davis : Burnt MagnoliaI

Cindy Davis : Burnt MagnoliaI

This is my first large format Magnolia. With a more abstract design, I like to keep my colors fresh and bold. I am especially pleased with the windows in this painting. These small squares placed randomly throughout the work let you “see” into the painting. These windows simulate digital water drops, reminding me of the freshness of spring.

Cindy Davis : Dream Flyer

Cindy Davis : Dream Flyer

This piece is a painting heading in the direction I want to go lately. I want to explore atmosphere, color, texture, and dreams. I have let go of the moons for a while and I feel the need to paint birds. This is the first painting in a series exploring birds and flight.

Cindy Davis : Cattail Sunset

Cindy Davis : Cattail Sunset

This is painting is about texture. I have layered a piece of woven canvas collage onto the surface. The sunset takes a subtle backseat to the cattail colors.

Cindy Davis : A Time To Rest

Cindy Davis : A Time To Rest

My second painting in the bird series. This one is less minimalist and more organic in nature. It amazes me how a bird can find one tiny twig sticking out of a weed to land on. If I could fly, I would have to land on something wide open, like Jax’s Beach.
