HDR

I still consider myself an HDR novice so please give me some feedback on these photos. What's good, what can I improve on, this is all stuff I'd like to know. I'm working with Photomatix so any tips with that program would be greatly appreciated as well.

A lot of people tend to be anti-HDR and I can sort of see where they are coming from. Some stuff is way out there and surreal, which isnt really my style. I prefer a much more subtle touch, but occasionally Ill go nuts.
