RAPID CITY, S.D. - Officer Candidate Michael Gallager navigates one of several obstacles on the Leadership Reaction Course on West Camp Rapid training site July 17, 2011 as part of the third and final phase of their Army officer training. Candidates were selected by their state’s Academic Leadership Board to participate in the regional training that has been held in the Black Hills for more than to 20 years. Successful candidates who represent twenty four states and the territory of Guam are scheduled to participate in a completion ceremony July 29 at Fort Meade outside Sturgis, S.D., before returning to their home states to await commission.
