Another stunning lake in the Twin Cities area connected to four other lakes in the Chain of Lakes district- Lake Calhoun, Brownie Lake, Cedar Lake and Lake Harriet. The Calhoun-Lake of Isles link is obvious but we haven't figured out where they join the other three.
Lake Calhoun has a boating dock and a beach side restaurant and attracts canoeists, kayakers, wind-sailers, boating and fishing enthusiasts, beach loungers, pet owners, runners, bikers, etc. Lake of Isles is far(not in distance, but spirit) from the bustling crowd and wonderfully serene. We rent a canoe/kayak at Lake Calhoun, paddle furiously to Lake of Isles, and rest there until we're ready to head back to Calhoun. The bridge in the picture separates the two lakes.
(I'll be back tomorrow. A "Like" button a la Facebook would make things so much easier on Flickr. :))
