I linked your photo to the Capitol Fax Blog
this afternoon after the IL governor
nominated Burris to fill a senate seat. The
views went up pretty quickly!
I see he was born August 3, 1937. There's no
date for Berlean. I guess that means Burris'
[presumable] wife is not yet born, but he
already knows she'll be a R.N. and Ph.D.?
This is very troubling. I can't say it ever
occurred to me, nor have I known anyone who,
while alive and healthy, already had not only
their crypt built, but a listing of their
accomplishments so far, with room to add more
later. This does not suggest someone with any
healthy familiarity with a sense of humility,
but rather perhaps, and A-No. 1 control
freak, but in any case, not any reassuring
quality in someone seeking to be a lawmaker.
One could half-seriously wonder if Burris
also has written out an exacting list of
accommodations demands he intends to present
to God.
I know what you mean. That's part of the
reason I took this picture, because with all
the accomplishments listed, I was sure he
must have passed on since I left the Chicago
area. But then I started to think about it,
and then I just thought "wow"...
Chicago politics. Got to love it...
Oh my. It's like he's lobbying God with a
resume to get himself into Heaven. I doubt
God will be any more impressed than I am with
his obvious humility.
Don't be jealous because this man has
prepared his family 's final resting place.
To many people wait until after someone dies
to handle their affairs. Who else knows their
life accomplishments better than themselves.
As a Pre-need counselor, I pray that more
people would take out to plan ahead. Get
over it!
When he was comptroller he either lied about
Illinois needing a tax increase to help
Thompson beat Dawn Clark Netsch or else he
was an incompetent accountant. The week after
the re-election of Thompson, Burris said,
oops, we do need a tax increase, after all.
Shame on him.
Well, he certainly has a high opinion of
himself now, doesn't he? I didn't see
anything on there about Rod Blagojevich,
pay-to-play appointment to Congress. What
gives?

I'm going to put "First Asian to Comment on the Flickr Photo of Burris' Grave" on my gravestone.
And also "Trail Blazer."

I'm wondering where he will put his Senate appointment. He's not the first African American from Illinois.
Burris only has these written out so because he's such an incredible ego maniac. Sick and scary. But not surprising.
I noticed though that nowhere does it say "Rejected by voters repeatedly for 10 years."

@southbound 07. Great photo. Tells a lot about the man.
Do you recall in which cemetery it was located?
ronhallberg (53 months ago | reply)
Whoops, should have looked a little farther. I see it was Oak Woods Cemetery in Chicago.

Priceless.
No -- wait, there was a price attached to Burris, wasn't there? Call up that foul-mouthed mobster Blagosi, see how many points were on that seat.
