How wrong can you be? I don't care how far in the future you go. Americans don't watch soccer.

This is amazingly prescient for 1979. I could believe it is not really from 1979, but something humorous made to look like it came from 1979. The givewaway is the part about how much time electronic mail will save us all.

I guess voyeurism was understood to be totally acceptable in the future because that guy with the camera is definitely perving his neighbors. Also, I don't think this was intended to be set in America, e.g. "favourite". F'ing Brits and their retarded spelling.

Well the amazon.com site checks out...

Now I wasn't alive in 1979 so its hard for me to judge but this was pretty spot on with a lot of things compared to most futuristic visions we get.

Now I just need my drink serving robot pal!

I had a book in the mid 70's that showed a marvelous machine that would let you watch a TV show WHILE RECORDING ANOTHER! It also extolled the virtues of a pill with the concentrated goodness of 6 (yes, count 'em, 6!) oranges. I think my Gran must have picked up the book for 10p. I wish I had it now.

The text is surprisingly accurate.

What always gets me is how they correctly predicted working from home, but didn't realise it also meant working from India would become possible.

Spying on your neighbors, tuning out your family, and leisure suits in tacky colors. Hey, we got some of it right.

In the future, sharp corners will be outlawed, and electronics will fill every crevice of your trailer.

The reason they didn't realize working from India would be possible is, I think, that the AT&T breakup hadn't happened yet and long-distance phone conversations were expensive - and their vision of email was essentially faxing, right?

And they accurately predict that 70's fashion would return.

I think they're correct in the fashion prediction (provided you're from Jersey)
