      I have that article linked as well. The resin is a standard coat recommended for graffiti abatement, but this complete coverage would still require restoration of the whole piece. It's costly enough when a portion of a mural is tagged, but this really amounts (time and funding wise) to a "re-do."

      I remember growing up in an LA full of beautiful murals. Over the years it's been very sad to see the grafitti creep up on them and destroy them, bit by bit... Yes, some grafitti is great urban art, but everything has its space, and murals should be spared. One of my favorites was the LA marathon mural on the 405. I grew up with that mural, as a kid I would peer out the car windows at the marathon runners' faces. It made traffic jams worthwhile. It really upset me to see it get ruined, year after year after year it just was totally completely ruined....
