Kitchen Peninsula

Kitchen Peninsula by socalmom.
The spongy black stuff below the new cabinet is "bitumen" - it's the tar-papery felt material used to waterproof roofs before the shingles are laid. The poria expert suggested we use this as an additional moisture barrier between the cracks in our foundation (which have been filled with epoxy before covering the floor with epoxy) and the new wood cabinetry.
