Clifford's Tower
On a recent, brief trip to York, I was “granted” some photography time. I hadn’t got any spectacular images but on the walk back to the bus station this tower caught my eye: perched on a simple mound, floodlit and against the starry moonlit sky. Just enough time for one exposure before the bus left. Thanks for looking.

Looks like it could be in the middle of nowhere if I didn't know better. Love it. Good that you can see so many stars for an urban area.

Nicely captured, Andrew. You were lucky, when we were last there, it was not fully lit.

Great shot - looks very difficult to expose with all the variations in light but you obviously have hit it just right , brilliant .

Well done getting the stars in there. Have photographed this many times. Early spring is particularly good as the mound is covered with daffodils. The last time I was there I was sat eating sandwiches in my car on the car-park right next to Clifford's Tower with the window down when two foreign-looking young men were pounced on by plain-clothed police officers right next to me in the neighbouring vacant car space. They arrested them on suspicion of terrorism, handcuffed them and led them off, one of them still eating a hot dog...!!

Very interesting Andrew. The image feels a bit like the opening shot for a sci-fi film with the combination of the stars, moon and tower. Congrats on EXPLORE!
