since we're in the driftless region no tour of a turn of century homestead would complete without visiting a tobacco barn.

tobacco was a common crop in the area at the time at the barns can be easily identified by the open spaces between the siding boards to allow for air movement and drying of the crop.

odin and his friends don't know much about tobacco, but they do know that it's fun to sit in the wagon while pretending to command a team of horses :-)
