Piazza Navona in Rome. In ancient times, the city flooded the piazza and staged naval battles (just like in the Coliseum).

Stray dogs chilling on the beach in Positano. The vocal corgi later appeared at our table while we were eating pizza marinara, and he fell asleep at my feet. Interestingly, he refused our "pizza bones." He just wanted to hang out.

Deep Valley of the Mills in Sorrento. This flour mill and connected buildings lies far below street level in the town. The mill was built in the 900s and was later abandoned when the humidity rose over a period of time. The valley reminded Alisa of a fairy tale. It does look like a place that was put under the spell of a wicked queen. :)
