wow, I can't believe how long and skinny the one boat is (silversides, I assume)... looks like a giant canoe!

Yes Kelly, it is long and skinny! It is 312 feet long and only 27 feet wide. I'm not an expert but I believe most submarines are buit skinny for their length.
During her active career she sank 30 ships and damaged 14 others. She ranks third among WW II US subs in ships sunk and since the two that sank more no longer exist, she is the nations most famous surviving WW II sub.
Betcha did'nt no ah cud reed so good, huh?
