Galveston

    Some of Galveston was so badly wrecked that people were forced to leave their homes, often against their will.

    On the left is a boat, lifted and tossed hundreds of yards inland by the storm. Even now -more than a month later - the roads and parking lots of Galveston are littered with broken boats like these.
