I just love the little touches of color - the green planter, the red pot.

I love how you have a gazillion different spices. Perfect little containers, too. I have all mine in chubby little jam jars (quite a pain to pack up when moving, btw).

I just love this. I do.

I used to have these same spice tins, but then accidentally used permanent (rather than) removable labels, and with the humidity near the steaming pots, they began to get a little rust. In my attempt to clean and de-rust them, the labels turned to gunk. It was a big pain in the ass to try and salvage them, but I do miss the look of it all.

There now, that is the longest (and strangest) comment I've ever left here at flickr. Happy weekend!

Aside from how cute this all is (hello little red pan!) and how much I want to go put my spices into adorable matching containers with labels...I'm going to have to use your mixer attachment holder idea. Clever!

Actually, lifeonflower, I am starting to have a little trouble with some of the tins. Because the lids are snug and pull-on/pull-off, if even a small amount of a spice gets caught between the lid and base, the lid can get stuck. (I actually had to throw away one at one point, because I couldn't jimmy it off at all, and you're right, the humidity doesn't help.) Mostly, they're fine, though. I am just on the lookout for tins with screw-top lids next time.

Deb, how do you buy your spices so that you just fill up the tin? That's my only issue with having containers other than the jars at the store, but our "system" is cramming all the bottles against the wall on a counter...

I find that the four ounce tins generally fit most spice bottles. If I occasionally have a mega one, like a McCormick cinnamon or something, I'll just keep the rest in the pantry and refill as needed. But generally, I just buy the standard bottles, which all fit.

Ok so I've been reading your blog for a few months and I have an obsession with your spice rack! So I was doing some digging and I found these tins: they're 3 oz, but they are twist on.

And they're only $0.75! Just thought I'd share... :)
