Alex's raspberry doughnut from the Doughnut Plant in the LES. Depsite it's horridly bright appearance, it tasted great. The raspberry coating was about as natural and wholesome as raspberry icing sugar on a ring of deep fried yeast dough can be.

	smitten says: That's a travesty, that is if you actually like their carboard excuses for 'donuts'. My inner Snark, I have to admit, wishes to blame California for it's inherent predisposition towards the Crunchy Granola. I believe this is what has really kept the deep-fried icing-sugar glazed yeast-raised artery-clogging doughs from your fair state. NYC make no such claims to health, thus, the fuschia thing you see above. Then again, from this deal Cali gets In-and-Out Burgers, or whaaa! Not fair! Have you been to the Doughnut Plant on Grand Street? It's almost never open (this was our third attempt) but totally worth it when it is. Posted 23 months ago. ( permalink )
