Check out that splash action! Evidently, I have discounted the new flash's food photography prowess too soon. This is so much better than the tripod/available light/clicker thing that we've found such a pain, anyway.

I got Alex a 430EX speedlite flash for his birthday. We love the people pictures with it, but I wasn't sure if I liked its effect on food. (To note, I'm using the macro lens and the flash isn't meant for macro, so often the light hits behind the food.) Either way, I can't help but notice it still looks better than my available light/harsh shadow attempts of late. You'd barely know this was taken at 11 p.m.
