Photographs included in this set come from the Anacostia Community Museum, the Smithsonian Institution Archives, and the National Museum of the American Indian. They show a range of celebrations: personal family celebrations, international celebrations of arts and industry at major world expositions, and National Powwows, the celebrations of Native American dance and song. The Smithsonian documents these events and makes the images available for study, research, and enjoyment.
