You gotta love green...

Yesterday we went to a butterfly garden in Leidschendam, The Netherlands. The best of its kind that I had ever seen. 800 square meters (7,200 sq. ft.) of mini rainforrest complete with birds, fish, some reptiles and about 145 different species of butterflies.
They opened 4 years ago and eventhough I live only about 6 km. from it, I never knew of this wonderful place until on of my colleagues posted a link of the website on the intranet.

impressions of a Belgian beer birthday party in Mechelen

Last weekend I was in Mechelen, Belgium again to celebrate the birthday of my friend Mark. ( www.flickr.com/photos/markec ) It was a fast and furious visit. But I thoroughly enjoyed meeting some old friends and more cool people from Mechelen.
Lately I've been really busy. And this is a hit and run post again. I apologize to the people who have written me e-mails over the past 2 weeks or so. I just don't have time to answer. I'll try to do something about that some time this weekend.

'Real' T-rex at Naturalis!

Today a real T-rex scares the visitors of Naturalis National Museum of Natural History in Leiden, The Netherlands. It seems to like it here. Rumours are that it will stay for the coming 3 days and appear now and then to have a little fun with unsuspecting visitors.

The crow waited patiently
For the abbey’s mourning

In a nightmare of unforgiven sins
The abbot won’t find peace
As Lillith’s passion haunts him
The crow will once again feast
On a sad and sullen morning
